Colleen Harvin Frampton grew up in Sumter, SC on Swan Lake Drive. Some of her earliest memories were the smell of turpentine and freshly painted canvases, the work of her artist mother, who exposed her to the world of art. After four decades of taking care of people as a Registered Nurse, she stumbled upon a passion for clay through a conversation with Lisa Alpaugh of Libird Studio. She fell in love with clay - malleable, fragile, and forgiving. She also loves working with plaster, which provides excellent structure for her mosaics. Both of these media are used for her body pieces, one-of-a-kind casting of human torsos which work as general artistic representations.
