Turkish artist Mine Nil Elcin has a background in architecture & ceramic sculpting. The pieces showcased here are entirely handcrafted representing fragments from the artist’s sea-themed creations. The underglaze paintings, crafted with the sgraffito technique, have undergone dual firings at 1100 degrees. They are glazed for aesthetic appeal and suitability for dining. All pieces are made in Turkey. Although not necessarily local, her son attends Tulane University and connected us.
